Discover Cheshire Gardens

How to use the site:

What does this site provide?

A facility to help you plan garden visits in Cheshire and Warrington, and to access information on places to visit, rest and stay, using an interactive map.  It also provides information on specific plant collections that can be found in certain gardens - in the 'In Bloom' section; garden events; and garden news and reviews.  Each garden has its own gallery, regularly updated with new images, to provide a virtual tour - and there is a gallery section complete with a slide show and videos to watch.

How can I use the map?

The controls are on the left side of the map. They allow you to pan across the map and zoom in or out. Clicking on the centre button will take you back to your original view. You can also move across the map by positioning the mouse arrow on the map and depressing the left mouse button – a hand symbol will appear, by moving the mouse with the left button depressed you can drag the map to reveal new areas.

What are Nearby Options?

Options are listed by category (Visit, Enjoy, Stay) with individual destinations listed under sub-categories (Country and Crafts, Eat and Drink, Hotels).

How can I see the Nearby Options on the map?

Click in the box of each sub-category (e.g. Food and Drink). Names of places that fall under each sub-category will be listed in the Options column and map pins representing each of them will appear on the map.

Another way of locating attractions, accommodation or facilities near your route, is to click on the blue arrow next to each sub-category (Stay/Bed and Breakfast), all places listed under that sub-category are then listed. If you click on a name, that destination will then be highlighted on the map.
