Little Moreton Hall Information
Britain’s most famous and arguably finest timber-framed manor house. The drunkenly reeling South Range, topped by the spectacular Long Gallery, opens onto a cobbled courtyard and the main body of the Hall. The delights of the wall paintings, tales of the Moreton family and life in Tudor England revealed by the free guided tours.
Of special interest is the reconstructed knot garden, as featured on David Dimbleby’s ‘How we built Britain’, reflecting the intricate designs found around the house. Herbs and vegetables of the period are grown here and used, where possible, in the restaurant.
