The Cathedral is open to visitors Mon – Sat 9.00 – 5.00, Sun 12.30 – 4.00

Cloister Garden Information

  
The Garden lies at the heart of the Cloisters of Chester Cathedral.  Refreshments are available in the Refectory Cafe, and the Cathedral Shop stocks a wide range of gifts and cards, some with a gardening theme.
 

Admission

Entrance to the Cathedral is £4.00 per person, Children 10 – 16 £3.00, Groups (10 or more) / Senior Citizens £3.00 per person. Family Ticket (2 adults, up to 3 children) £10.00.  (Prices are subject to variation).

Access

 
Access is good – there are no steps or major obstacles, although being a medieval building there are some uneven floors.
 

Exploring further a field:

 
Chester city attractions, including Grosvenor Museum, River Dee, shopping.
Garden of interest throughout the year by virtue not only of plant species but the design, setting and major sculpture ‘The Water of Life’ by Stephen Broadbent.
Ferns including Cyathea Medullaris, Cerisaema, and exotic bulbs, spring flowering bulgs, collection of choice climbing plants, herb garden, herbaceous plants, exotic summer bulbous plants, specimen trees – Embothrium Coccineum ‘Inca Flame’, Metasequoia Glyptostroboides.

Plant of the Month is featured in the Cathedral Monthly News which is available online via www.chestercathedral.com.
