Combermere Abbey information

The historic Walled Gardens at Combermere Abbey on the Cheshire/Shropshire borders is an undiscovered gem, which has been lovingly restored over the past few years.
It is broken into three gardens totalling five and a half acres, and at its apex sits the beautiful fan shaped Glasshouse, originally used for growing fruit and now a stunning venue for weddings and events.
Surrounding the Glasshouse is the world’s only Fruit Tree Maze – planted in 1993 and designed by Randoll Coate, founder of Minotaur Mazes and Bert Davis, world expert on all this fruity!!
Comprising a wide range of varieties of apples, pears, gooseberries and redcurrants – it is over half a mile in length and features symbols associated with the Labyrinth and fruit folklore.
The Geometric garden, also planted in 1993 is designed as a series of rooms in different geometric shapes and full of herbaceous borders, a Mediterranean border and broken up with a pleached hornbeam avenue and beech and box hedging
